Reading across Spanish Photography. A guided tour through the Foto Colectania Collection. Talk by Carles Guerra, Curator of the exhibition 'Beyond the Single Image. Spanish Photography from the Foto Colectania Collection'. This talk will perform a cross-reading of the Foto Colectania Collection as it is installed in the Warehouse’s galleries. Carles Guerra will deliver his curatorial insights into the 150 photographs that narrate an alternative history of Spanish photography and the politics that shaped the relationship between photographers and sitters over the second half of the 20th century. A leap that would be better characterized as a paradigm change in the field of photography: from an extractivist attitude towards the surrounding world up until performing a rather collaborative role through the camera.
